About Joshua Navarra

Joshua Navarra I am a pencil artist from Fremont, California. Since childhood I took a break from drawing until 2007 when a good friend of mine was killed in Iraq while serving for the US Army. After his death I decided to produce a portrait drawing in his honor. Although it didn't turn out great, it was this drawing that brought me back to my interest in art. I started to explore a variety of mediums including acrylic painting, airbrushing, oil painting, tattooing, and pencil drawing.

5 years later I decided to work in primarily pencil work. In 2013 I truly felt that I have achieved a level of drawing that was a lot closer to my goal of realism.
